The beads are rolled by hand from the same botanical incense blends as our guardian pendants and strung on stretch cord, with an accent bead in the element’s colour. Wear the one that suits you, or stack all five.
The five blends
- Jinxi · Metal · Osmanthus: sandalwood, osmanthus, agarwood, clove, lemongrass, frankincense. Clear and sweet, with a long finish.
- Qingdai · Wood · Rose & Roselle: rose, sandalwood, roselle, jiangzhen wood, borneol, storax. Floral and bright.
- Nachuan · Water · Lavender: lavender, agarwood, arborvitae seed, polygala root, sandalwood, benzoin. Fresh and quiet.
- Cangyan · Fire · Cinnamon & Rose: sandalwood, aged tangerine peel, lovage root, rose, cinnamon, benzoin. Warm and round.
- Shouxin · Earth · Coffee & Frankincense: coffee bean, aged tangerine peel, frankincense, myrrh, vanilla, borneol. Bitter first, then sweet.
Size
Stretch cord, fits most adult wrists. Need it larger or smaller? Write your wrist measurement in the order note and we will string it to fit.
Wear and care
Keep it dry: take it off to wash, swim or shower. The scent is strongest in the first months and softens slowly; store it in a closed box when you are not wearing it. These are natural botanicals, so if you have sensitive skin or a fragrance allergy, check the blend first. Not for burning.

Do I burn it?
No. The pendants and bracelet beads are made to be worn, not burned. The warmth of your skin lifts the scent.
How long does the scent last?
It is strongest in the first months and softens slowly. Keep it in a closed box when you are not wearing it and it holds its scent much longer.
What is in each blend?
Every blend and its ingredients are listed in the description above. They are natural woods, resins, flowers and spices; if you have sensitive skin or a fragrance allergy, check the list first.
Which guardian should I choose?
Cangyan (Fire), the horned one, clears a space: for a desk, a study, anyone who needs a calmer room. Shouxin (Earth), cradling its orb on a steady seat, settles a mind: for the bedside, for anyone who worries. Jinxi (Metal), with the gilt ingot in its mouth, gathers fortune into a house: for a new home, a new business, a till. Nachuan (Water), with a carp, keeps good things flowing: for the front desk or showroom. Qingdai (Wood), holding a mushroom, is for joy in small things.
Why does mine look slightly different from the photo?
Because each one is finished by hand, in small batches. Small variations are the point of buying one made by a person.
How is it different from a Maneki-neko?
The Japanese beckoning cat raises a paw to call customers and money into a shop. The Wamao guards a home: it faces outward from the roof and eats what should not come in. One invites, one protects.

Tracked shipping from Kunming, 7–12 business days to the US. Duties are included. If it arrives damaged, send a photo within 7 days and we resend free. Change of mind: return within 30 days, unused and in the original box, buyer pays postage.
